RV Parking Rules in Atlanta, Georgia — 2025 Guide
Updated 2025
Atlanta City Code Section 150-182
Atlanta's City Code Section 150-182 governs vehicle storage in residential areas. Atlanta permits driveway RV parking under standard conditions and enforces a 72-hour street limit. Code enforcement at (404) 330-6190 handles complaints. First violations allow 30 days to comply.
North Atlanta Suburbs — Strict HOA Zone
Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Cumming (Forsyth County), Suwanee, and Duluth are among the most HOA-dense areas in Georgia. High home values and active neighborhood associations combine to produce strict RV parking enforcement. Most north Atlanta planned communities have total prohibition on visible RV storage.
Within Atlanta City Limits
Older Atlanta neighborhoods — Buckhead, Morningside, Midtown, Virginia-Highland, Decatur — often predate HOA governance and have no CC&R restrictions. Code enforcement is complaint-driven. Some in-town neighborhoods have strong civic associations that encourage code enforcement even without formal HOA authority.
