RV Parking Rules in Georgia — Atlanta, Savannah & HOA Guide

Updated 2025

Georgia HOA Law

The Georgia Property Owners Association Act (O.C.G.A. § 44-3-220) governs HOAs with procedural requirements but no restriction on parking rule content. Georgia HOAs can enforce RV parking prohibitions in CC&Rs.

Atlanta Metro

Atlanta City Code Section 150-182 governs vehicle storage in residential zones. Atlanta enforces a 72-hour street limit and permits driveway parking under standard conditions. The northern Atlanta suburbs — Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Cumming, Suwanee — are among the most HOA-dense areas in Georgia and frequently have total RV parking prohibitions in their CC&Rs.

Savannah and Augusta

Both cities are substantially more permissive than Atlanta. They enforce 72-hour street limits but have less active code and HOA enforcement for residential RV storage. Many older neighborhoods in both cities predate HOA governance entirely.
